We need to remember there is still beauty and grace in our world...and share it with one another. So, we share with you this uplifting and beautiful poem written by Franciscan Brother Richard Hendricks of Ireland.
If you ask any Falcons Landing resident about the decision to move into a senior living community, they will most likely recommend doing it as soon as you can to take advantage of all the opportunities retirement has to offer. But, there are a few myths and misperceptions about life in a retirement community that might be holding you back.
When Falcons Landing resident Jerry Schumacher sees prospective residents on a tour of the community, he has one message for them: “You’re looking at the wrong thing. You’re looking at the size of the apartment or where your couch is going to go, but you should look at the people here. They’re far more important.”
Falcons Landing was recently awarded its fifth consecutive 5-year accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF accreditation is a distinction held by only 8 percent of all Life Plan (or CCRC) communities. Since it opened more than 20 years ago, Falcon’s Landing has maintained continuous CARF accreditation.
While the days are getting shorter, don’t let that keep you from connecting with friends and family. In fact, it may be more important than ever during the holidays and winter! Staying social is more than a “nice-to-have” — it’s actually life giving.
